Counselling, Psychotherapy and Coaching in West Wittering, near Chichester, West Sussex and Culpeper's Therapy Rooms, Chichester. Talking things over with an understanding, trained outsider can help people to clarify their thoughts and feelings, make decisions and even make major changes in their lives in a safe and confidential environment.
I have worked with people dealing with a broad range of issues and life crises, both in private practice and working for GP practices in the NHS, including:-
- anger management - bereavement - relationship problems - addictions - work-related issues - trauma and recovery - depression - unresolved experiences in childhood - sexual abuse - bullying - neglect - domestic violence
There are times when everyone needs some space and smeone to listen to them, objectively, without judgement and counselling can provide this. For me, counselling is a partnership between counsellor and client to look jointly at a client's experience: the client decides which issuess/he wants to look at and prioritise. All sessions are confidential.
I believe it is never too late to tackle aspects of life that prevent us from living life to the full. I work with people in both longer-term and in shorter time limited situations, often monthly with life coaching or weekly, more often with psychotherapy.
My approach is integrative drawing on a variety of training and skills from various schools of psychotherapy, from person-centred to psychodynamic and existential and is based on a transpersonal philosophy which looks at situations from a spiritual perspective.
My practice is in West Wittering, in West Sussex. The village of East Wittering is a short walk away and Chichester is 7 miles to the north. I also work from Culpeper's Therapy Rooms in Chichester. Both Chichester and West Wittering are within easy reach of neighbouring towns such as Bogner Regis and Portsmouth and more generally West Sussex, accessible by car and public transport.
My Background
I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, and BBC trained coach. I have nine years of experience as a psychotherapist, and also trained as a coach and worked as an executive coach at the BBC for three years before beginning my own practice as a counsellor, psychotherapist and life coach.
I qualified as a psychotherapist and counsellor with an MA in integrative pyschotherapy in 2002 and have been working in private practice and the NHS since then. I also work at the CCPE in Warwick Avenue, near Paddington, within easy reach of the centre of London by tube. I offer a range of skills from counselling and psychotherapy to business and executive coaching to life coaching as appropriate for the goals and issues at hand.
Supervision
I have continued my professional development with a year’s training as a counselling and psychotherapy supervisor, in a UKCP and BACP accredited course, and have experience of working for a NHS and privately financed counselling centre, running group supervision. This training and earlier experience in management, and coaching proves helpful in recognising and naming some of the dynamics that occur in groups and organisations in order to problem-solve and get on with the work in hand. I offer individual supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists.
